Twin Falls, Idaho

I was completely surprised and somewhat stunned by the beauty I encountered in Twin Falls. One travels over a huge gorge to enter the city and not far from there is Shoshone Falls. Here, I encountered something I had never seen before, in fact, I hadn't know it was even possible. I saw both ends of rainbow! Unfortunately I didn't find a pot o' gold and I didn't have a lens wide enough to capture it all in one photo. These will give you an idea.

These are not lined up perfectly, but as I said, you get the idea.

This next couple are from at the edge of town itself, a little further down the river from the falls above. You actually walk from a shopping center parking lot to where I shot these.

Baltimore Harbor

Baltimore has numerous attractions and sights to see. These shots were taken when our Irish family came to the U.S. for a visit. These are each from Harbor Place; a beautiful, welcoming, hanging basket and the U.S.S. Constellation. The Constellation, of course, is the sister ship to the U.S.S. Constitution, Old Ironsides. We have heard sea shantys sung from the decks of the Constellation, while sailors demonstrated how the music aided the work of hauling sails. Very impressive!

The National Aquarium is a huge draw to the Baltimore area. You could, very easily, spend more than a day exploring the wonders of this magnificent "otherly" world!

Williamsburg, Virginia

The folks at Williamsburg have spent years and, presumably, millions of dollars to ensure that visitors have as close to a Colonial experience as possible when they visit.

A few from Santa Fe

This is the second time I am posting pics from Santa Fe. For reasons, yet unknown to me, the first post disappeared. So, in searching out the original pictures, I decided to add a couple. The one above is of Christ in an interestingly southwestern view. Note that his robe, which covers missing parts of his body, is exactly the same color as his eyes. One does not often see strikingly blue eyes as part of Christ images.

 Tres Amigos

These next two are of three gentleman watching the ceremony celebrating the installation of bells in the Cathedral in Santa Fe. These bells are the first ever in the right hand steeple and were dedicated on the 400th anniversary of the church in 2008. It was their matching blue shirts that caught my eye from across the plaza.

The last photo is of St. Francis Cathedral, itself

Welcome to my new site

This new blog is a companion, if you will, to my blog honoring Vietnam memorials (ameanstoheal.org) across the nation. As I have traveled to these sites far and wide, I have had the opportunity to photograph many other beautiful and/or unusual sites. I will post them here on occasion as many have requested. I hope you will check in once and a while and that you find something you like!

The picture above, the title shot, is from a view not far outside Anchorage, Alaska. My brother and I visited a couple of years back and we found that we were stopping so often to take roadside shots we finally had to agree to stop or we would never make our destination.

The shot below is from an entirely different location and clime. Near the Acoma Pueblo, 40 miles west of Albuquerque, I came upon a storm in the desert and was able to stop and capture this beautiful sight.
